They actually think that the American public are like sheep, ready to fling themselves rabidly upon whatever wedge issue is dangled in front of their eyes. "Uh, yeah, people are getting killed in Iraq, and yeah, we never found those WMD- but look! Queers, getting married! Ewwww."
Hey, politicians and political advisors? When you start sounding like Gary Callahan, it might be time to call it quits.
